Sydney Roberts defeated Rebecca Skoler 1-UP to give Clemson a 3-2 victory over Virginia in the semifinals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Match Play Championship early Sunday afternoon at Porter’s Neck Golf Club in Wilmington, NC.
The No. 21/20 Clemson Tigers battled back from a four-run deficit, scoring five runs in the final two innings, but ultimately dropped the series finale to Notre Dame, 6-5. The Tigers move to 31-15 (13-8 ACC), while Notre Dame moves to 24-20 (8-13 ACC).
Jack Sokol pitched 6.0 scoreless innings to lead Pittsburgh to an 8-4 victory over No. 4 Clemson in the first game of a doubleheader at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
